Here at CPO, we love what we do. In order to insure the outdoor world, a company and its employees have to know the outdoor world.
We know your personal and business needs because we live it ourselves and we share the passion for the sporting and outdoor life.
M.D. "Brit" Barker , III has been in the insurance business his entire professional career. He learned the business from his father who has been involved in the insurance world for over 60 years. Throughout his tenure at various insurance companies and then when he became 100% owner at Coastal Plains Insurance and Coastal Plains Outdoors, Brit honed his skills at creating niche programs and products to better serve his unique client list and their specific needs. Brit sold Coastal Plains Insurance in 2010 to focus solely on what he is most passionate about, the Outdoors and Coastal Plains Outdoors. Brit continues to create specialty insurance programs by partnering with the highest rated insurance companies in the nation. His creativity and the strategic partnerships ensure that CPO clientele are receiving the most comprehensive insurance, with top of the line service at the most competitive prices in the marketplace.
When not in the office you can find Brit in the outdoors pursuing big game, in the duck blind or dove field, calling in the majestic gobbler, or fly fishing the scenic rivers of the nation. International destinations are also Brit's passion. So whether it be in a boat, blind, on foot or on horseback, he has experienced it all so his clients can have the confidence that Brit absolutely knows insurance and how it relates to the outdoors. Brit is also very passionate about giving back to the local community, sponsoring outdoor related charities and volunteering his time at various organizations and associations particularly Youth-oriented programs that work to promote the outdoors to future generations.
